Blues frontman and guitarist Gary Clark Jr. sat down for a short bit with musical blog Noisey. He touches on musical freedom, his strong blues background, and putting your heart and soul into whatever you are doing. For the short length of the video, it's really quite inspiring. If you haven't had a chance to listen to Gary, we highly recommend him. His effort from last year Blak And Blu is a timeless classic. You can check the video after the jump.

In preparation for their upcoming Endless Summer Tour, Los Angeles nu disco duo Classixx have spun their dreamy chilled-out vibes on top of Passion Pit’s lead single “Take a Walk.” The track gives a solid bass line with a strong 80's electro vibe. The effects added to the vocals are nice as well. Overall this is a great remix track of Passion Pit's most successful single. You can grab the track for free over at SoundCloud. Link below.

Thrice have graced fans with plans for their final album. The band got together earlier this year and put together "Anthology" which drummer Riley Breckenridge says, is a true representation of their live performance.
"Anthologyis a live record that is truly live. There are no overdubs, no edits and no pitch corrections. We wanted this to be an honest and accurate representation of a show from our Farewell Tour and a memento for our fans, and that's exactly what it is."
The record is due out in October, and will accompany the band's farewell tour, which kicks off later t...Read More

Rock band Anberlin has released "Someone Anyone" on their website to build some buzz for their upcoming album, "Vital", due out in October. I enjoyed their albums "Cities" and "New Surrender" but I haven't heard much from them other than that. Their subtle electronic effects are really what drew me in as well as Stephen Christian's unique voice. It will be interesting to hear what they have to offer in a few months!

John Mayer had the challenge of promoting a new album without being able to perform most of it due to vocal health. It seems his voice is back but he's still taking it easy. In this live studio video, John performs an acoustic version of "Something Like Olivia", one of my favorites from his new album "Born and Raised".

Gotye's video for "Somebody That I Used To Know" made waves on the internet for it's interesting style, and his latest visual for "Save Me" is just as unique. It's entirely animated and doesn't feature Gotye at all, but instead a cardboard robot that is slowly piecing itself together. Are those bacon strips? In the end the empty-looking robot meets another being who has a heart. Watch it below.
Hey Gotye, how about a video for "In Your Light" next?

Adele has had a lot of accomplishments in her short career. From six grammy noms [and wins] to constantly having both her albums in the top spot, week after week.
This, however is an accolade that stands out. For years, the same acts have ruled the music charts in the UK. Acts like The Beatles, and Pink Floyd have dominated the spots for nearly half a decade. Today, however, Adele's sophomore release "21" overtook Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side Of The Moon", the band 1971 masterpiece. This jump marks "21" as the seventh highest sel...Read More

It's hard to place WZRD in any particular genre, which I believe was the goal Kid Cudi and Dot Da Genius were trying to accomplish with their new project. Pronounced how it's spelt-out, but meaning "wizard", WZRD fuses rock and electronica to create a psychedelic soundscape featuring Kid Cudi's singing vocals (Sorry rap fans, no bars are spit on the WZRD project, nor is there any swearing). The entirety of the album is produced by Day 'N' Night producer Dot Da Genius with Cudi on guitar, however Empire Of The Sun leant their talent on The Dream Time Machine and Desi...Read More

Whoever put together the Red Hot Chili Peppers' upcoming North American tour has some pretty damn good taste in music. Why? Because for their respective dates, the likes of Sleigh Bells, Little Dragon, and Santigold will serve as the support acts.
Of course, those three acts and the Chili Peppers would be absolutely insane, but that would probably be impossible to book. Plus, we're down for seeing them again as long as, say, we get to hear new tunes from Santi in a live setting.

I am always very iffy when I see any post about a "mash-up", because quite frankly it's a very easy way to ruin a classic song. However, in this case, Capital Cities do it flawlessly. The song begins with a beautiful instrumental intro, which features elements of the original "Breathe" off Pink Floyd's 1972 classic "Dark Side Of The Moon".
